From winter 2016, IAG Cargo customers will benefit from two new routes on its global network: Madrid-Tokyo and Madrid-Shanghai. Flights to the Japanese capital will start on October 18, with a three-time weekly service departing Madrid on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The new services to Shanghai are subject to the granting of slots and permits, but Iberia aims to begin flights this winter.
The routes will be served by Iberia A330-200 aircraft, with each flight able to hold up to 13 tonnes of cargo. Connecting through IAG Cargo’s Madrid hub, the new routes will help to better connect East Asia to Latin America; providing businesses with greater flexibility over where and when they ship their goods. The services will complement the flights IAG Cargo already offers to these cities from its Heathrow hub; helping to better connect customers to the 350 destinations on IAG Cargo’s global network.
